CIMC Vehicles Signs University-Enterprise Cooperation Agreement with Shanghai Jiaotong University and MIT

On the afternoon of May 28, 2018, CIMC Vehicles Group Co., Ltd., ANTAI College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Leaders for Global Operation of MIT (MIT LGO) held a university-enterprise cooperation agreement signing ceremony in Shanghai. CIMC Vehicles has officially become an enterprise partner of SJTU-MIT China Leaders for Global Operation (CLGO) project.

Mr. Li Guiping, Vice President of CIMC and CEO and President of CIMC Vehicles Group Co., Ltd., attended the signing ceremony and made a speech. "I believe this cooperation will not only promote the CIMC Vehicles’ management and talent upgrade, but also enable students of CLGO project enhance their international leadership and theoretical application ability and help their career development", he said.

Professor Zhou Lin, Dean of ANTAI College of Economics and Management, said he was glad that the CLGO university-enterprise cooperation has gained support of the top management of CIMC Vehicles. Mr. Li Guiping is the senior executive who leads CIMC's successful international operation, and he is also an old friend of ANTAI; therefore, such cooperation is sure to bring students more opportunities for in-depth internship and research in enterprises, and it can also help CIMC Vehicles find more operational talents suitable for China's national conditions and international needs.

According to Thomas Roemer, Director of the MIT LGO project, with the continuous improvement of the status of China's manufacturing industry in the global manufacturing industry, the training objective of CLGO project has changed from simply cultivating operational talents that meet the needs of multinational enterprises in China to cultivating operational elites that can adapt to the further internationalization of Chinese enterprises. More and more business model cases of Chinese enterprises have attracted international attention. He hopes to visit with students the CIMC's headquarters in Shenzhen and its factories in the United States in the near future.

It is learned that the CLGO project is an interdisciplinary and full-time MBA program jointly initiated by ANTAI College of Economics and Management, School of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and authorized by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This project adopts the model of MIT's prestigious "Leaders for Global Operation" (LGO) project, and is supported and cooperated by Apple, Esquel, Dell, Honeywell, Cisco, Comac, Huawei and other famous multinational and local Chinese enterprises. By combining the discipline advantages and characteristics of Shanghai Jiaotong University in the field of engineering and management, it is designed to cultivate global operation elites proficient in the combination of engineering management theory and practice and with outstanding leadership skills. The CLGO project has now provided a large number of key talents for manufacturing and service operation field, and has become a benchmark project for the industry and colleges to jointly cultivate high-end management talents.
